Product description
Polystyrol 145D is a high flow general purpose polystyrene. Polystyrol 145D offers exceptional processing characteristics for thin walled parts, multi-cavity tools, and complex designs.
 
Processing
Although Polystyrene 145D can be processed by any method applicable to polystyrene based plastics,it is most suitable for both injection molding and extrusion.
 
Applications
High melt flow and flexibility allows Polystyrol 145D to be used in high speed high productivity molding applications such as thin walled containers, audio and video cassette packaging, vials, jars, and cutlery. Polystyrol 145D is ideally suited for blending with HIPS , clear SBS block copolymers, or other applications where low odor and taste are critical. Polystyrol 145D can also be utilized as a coextruded gloss cap over HIPS.
 
Form supplied and storage
Polystyrol 145 D is supplied as cylindrical shaped granules. It has to be kept in its original containers in a cool , dry place. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Polystyrol 145 D can be stored in silos
 
Food legislation
If used unmodified and under appropriate processing conditions, parts from Polystyrol 145 D comply with the usual requirements for food packaging. For detailed written confirmations please contact our regional sales offices.
 
Product safety
During processing of Polystyrol 145 D small quantities of styrene monomer may be released into the atmosphere. At styrene vapour concentrations below 20 ppm no negative effects on health are expected. In our experience, the concentration of styrene does not exceed 1 ppm in well ventilated workplaces - that is where five to eight air changes per hour are made.
